About
Franklin County Search and Rescue is a Search and Rescue Team based in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. We were created to assist local emergency services and communities in all lost or missing persons activities on a 100% Volunteer basis. We are available 24/7 - 365 days a year. We serve Franklin County, PA and surrounding counties (and sometimes surrounding states!). Our services are provided to the community and as mutual aid to emergency agencies as a 100% free and volunteer community public service. We utilize technology such as drone and aerialphotography to help locate victims quickly and efficiently (as well as normal on-the-ground manpower assistance).
Experience
Combined, our team of trained volunteers has over 20+ years of experience. We hold NIMS, Hazardous Materials Awareness, Drone Operator, Fire Police, SAR specific, and many other certifications. The Team can also assist with supplementing Emergency personnel and supporting Rescue functions. Once requested on the scene, we report to the Incident Commander. We function as a support service and will not take over the incident command nor assume responsibility for said incident (we act strictly as Mutual Aid Support). We can assist with any and all aspects of incidents where we are requested and do so in a very friendly fashion.
Tools
We utilize a variety of tools and man-power at our disposal. Recently we've added a DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual Drone (with Thermal camera) to our arsenal to aid the community in oursearch and rescue efforts.
